Hi! I’m Anika and I own SewItGoes 💛

I thought I’d share a little bit about who I am and how this little business came to life.

It all began with a little girl selling hand painted rocks and homegrown fruit by the side of the road. When I was around eight I would set up a tiny table at the end of our driveway with a hand drawn sign, hoping a few cars might stop. Sometimes cars did stop. Sometimes they didn’t. But I loved doing it every single time.

My sewing journey started when I was ten and my grandparents gave me my first sewing machine. My very first “project” was a purple skirt, although my mum did most of the work while I sat there bored haha. I really got into sewing during lockdown making little pouches, and then kept learning through school.

A couple of years ago I got really sick of always losing my lip balm, so I sewed a little lip balm keychain and told my family “I could sell these!” I had no idea it would turn into what it is today.

This business means so much to me. I’ve met so many kind and beautiful people along the way and I’m excited to meet even more. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me, even if it was just a like or comment. Those little things really do mean the world.

I’m doing something a bit different to what most people my age are doing, and sometimes I do wonder if what I’m doing is “good enough.” But every time I come back to the same thing… this is what makes me happy. So why wouldn’t I keep doing it? I love it so much, and I’m genuinely so grateful that I get to follow my dreams.

I’m so excited for what is ahead. We have some big plans for next year and I can’t wait to share them with you! 💛
